JOACHIM SCHMID
has published a collection of Brazilian football fields, most of them are found, forged, squeezed or eked out of the existing urban condition which makes them quite interesting. I’d love to know what came first, the pitch or the houses? or was there something larger in place originally that was removed leaving a void ripe for the picking. Either way, it’s a good indication of how much that country loves their football, given that they’ll turn any dusty, vaguely rectangular space into a pitch.
